• My name is Mike, and I'm an engineer, biker, service dog trainer, and inventor of the BTL. After 9/11, my family raised service dogs, starting with our 1st puppy, Tribute, named to honor those lost. To meet Tribute's need for speed & my limited energy, I decided to combine biking with running for her. I knew it was not safe to use a regular leash, given my understanding of physics and dog behavior. Noticing the lack of safe options, I set out to create a device that was both fun and safe to use.
